Halloween Time

Sorry for the lack of updates but time to get started again, lots going on. Yesterday Clare had he Amanda's Place Halloween Party where she dressed as Minnie Mouse, in pink. Today, along with Kalie, we went to the Fall Festival in Parkland.

Clare's Graduation Pictures

What a wonderful night we had. Clare "graduated" from Amanda's Place. They do this for all you will be turning three during the next 12 months. Clare will still be attending through the rest of the year since her birthday is late in the year. We attended this graduation so that there would not be a break between attending and the ceremony that they do once a year.

Afterwards we went to a newly opened Dairy Queen for a celebration treat :)

Clare in Pennsylvania for Mother's Day

Last weekend we were in Pennsylvania where we had some rain, some sun and a late season nor'easter. Here are a few pictures from this past Mother's Day.

In St. Augustine

Last night we made the drive from SE Florida to St. Augustine, Florida. Traffic was very smooth besides a few showers near the end of our trip.

We are visiting family who are down from Pennsylvania. We just got back from the beach and Clare is napping.

Spring Fling

Today the city of Pompano Beach held its Spring Fling and what a great time everyone had. Like last week's event the weather cooperated and today was warmer and a few clouds. While at Kester Park Clare and Kalie met Merlin, one of Broward County Sheriff's Office Police Horses. Both of them had a chance to pet him.

After Merlin came more fun with getting their Easter/Spring Bags with all kinds of goodies in them along with a cookie. That was followed by bouncing in the bounce house and Kalie doing the inflatable slide. Clare came very close to doing it as well but she lost her grip as she was almost to the top of the slide and was unable to climb back up. She tried hard though.

Our visit ended with a try at the Ring Toss game, where of course all of our rings bounced off of all the bottles.

Egg Hunt in Lighthouse Point

Today all of us went to the Spring Festival and Egg Hunt in Lighthouse Point. This was the second year that we attended this fun event. In addition to the egg hunt we also saw the Easter Bunny and enjoyed great food.

The weather was great! We started the day with thunderstorms in the 6 am hour followed by cloudiness. But when 11am rolled around the sun was shining and most everything had dried off. This may have caused some families not to venture out since it did not seem as busy as last year's event. Anyhow, enjoy the pictures.

Merry Christmas

Santa has arived and left while Clare was asleep. Merry Christmas to all.

Candy Cane Festival

On Saturday Clare, Kalie, Karen and I went to the Candy Cane Festival at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Along with a candy cane hunt we also saw Santa, went on a hay ride where we saw a very large iguana and went in a bounce house and slide. The girls had a great time and the weather was perfect, 78F and breezy.

Snow in Florida

OK, so it was really crushed ice but Clare and Kalie did not mind. This was at the Lighthouse Point Tree Lighting event on December 5, 2007. There was plenty of snow (sort of) a bounce house and pizza. A perfect night for two girls waiting for Christmas.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Clare had a great time tonight. Her favorite, cranberry sauce and coconut cream pie. Clare and her mom are already asleep with full bellies. Enjoy the pictures!

Catching Up for the Holidays

Not a post since Halloween so I thought before the holidays really kicked in I would update a couple of things here. Clare is now 2! She has no problem telling you that herself. She had a wonderful birthday as you can see from the pictures below.

This afternoon we will be heading over to the grandparent's house to meet up with Kalie and the rest of the family for Thanksgiving dinner. I think she is going to love all the food around. Over the past couple days she has developed a strong liking to pumpkin courtesy muffins and ice cream I have given her. I know she will love the pie and her favorite from last year, sweet potato casserole.

Trick-or-Treat

With the threat of heavy rain and wind from tropical storm Noel we went out without getting a drop of rain on us. Clare made out very well with her basket nearly filled twice, which is more candy than the three of us can eat. Here are some pictures. Happy Halloween!

Tuesday night we carved a pumpkin and Clare was not that amused about it. She preferred playing on her bike and with her chalk. She did finally take an interest when she saw Mom beating the pumpkin with a mallet to get the "pumpkin shape cutter" through the skin. Enjoy the pictures and have a safe Halloween. We are just keeping our fingers crossed that tropical storm Noel behaves for a few hours :)
