Santa has arived and left while Clare was asleep. Merry Christmas to all.

Candy Cane Festival

On Saturday Clare, Kalie, Karen and I went to the Candy Cane Festival at Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach, Florida. Along with a candy cane hunt we also saw Santa, went on a hay ride where we saw a very large iguana and went in a bounce house and slide. The girls had a great time and the weather was perfect, 78F and breezy.

Snow in Florida

OK, so it was really crushed ice but Clare and Kalie did not mind. This was at the Lighthouse Point Tree Lighting event on December 5, 2007. There was plenty of snow (sort of) a bounce house and pizza. A perfect night for two girls waiting for Christmas.

Thanksgiving Dinner

Clare had a great time tonight. Her favorite, cranberry sauce and coconut cream pie. Clare and her mom are already asleep with full bellies. Enjoy the pictures!

Catching Up for the Holidays

Not a post since Halloween so I thought before the holidays really kicked in I would update a couple of things here. Clare is now 2! She has no problem telling you that herself. She had a wonderful birthday as you can see from the pictures below.

This afternoon we will be heading over to the grandparent's house to meet up with Kalie and the rest of the family for Thanksgiving dinner. I think she is going to love all the food around. Over the past couple days she has developed a strong liking to pumpkin courtesy muffins and ice cream I have given her. I know she will love the pie and her favorite from last year, sweet potato casserole.

Trick-or-Treat

With the threat of heavy rain and wind from tropical storm Noel we went out without getting a drop of rain on us. Clare made out very well with her basket nearly filled twice, which is more candy than the three of us can eat. Here are some pictures. Happy Halloween!

Tuesday night we carved a pumpkin and Clare was not that amused about it. She preferred playing on her bike and with her chalk. She did finally take an interest when she saw Mom beating the pumpkin with a mallet to get the "pumpkin shape cutter" through the skin. Enjoy the pictures and have a safe Halloween. We are just keeping our fingers crossed that tropical storm Noel behaves for a few hours :)

Getting ready for Halloween here. In south Florida you can not get your pumpkin early because it will rot due to the temperature and humidity. So we normally go to the pumpkin patch within a week of Halloween.

Sunday after work we headed out with Kalie's parents and here are some pictures to show you the fun we had.

Water Park

Last night Clare and Kalie went to Quiet Waters Park where they were having a Luau from 6pm to 10pm. The two of them had a great time. Here are a few pictures from the evening.

At the Beach

It has been a while since the last post so here is a quick post. Today we are at Deerfield Beach, Florida enjoying the mostly calm surf. The last several weekends have been rainy but we have been very fortunate to have the wonderful weather today.

Swimming in St. Augustine

Clare is in St. Augustine this week visiting her grandparents. She just dipped in the pool for the first time...and she loves it!

While here she has seen alligators and dolphins.

The weather has cleared and warmed up from the 50s we had on Monday with rain. Today we are around 80 with mostly clear skies.

Egg Hunt

This morning was the egg hunt for Amanda's Place. Clare was joined by Kalie for a very fun morning with beautiful weather. Here a some pictures from today. The first is of the family with the Easter Bunny.

You will also see Clare stuffing her mouth with some of the great food that was around. In addition to each child bringing a dozen eggs for "hiding" families also brought food including sandwiches, salads and sweets. Mmmmmm.....

The sun was bright with only a few clouds as temperatures were in the mid 70s.

Clare had so much fun, even before finding eggs. Her Elmo basket was by her side most of the time.

Happy St. Patty's Day

Lots of fun today. Mommy was off from work so Clare, Kalie, Mommy and I spent the morning having fun. We had a bite of breakfast out then went to the park. As you can see from the expressions there was a lot of fun being had on this beautiful day in south Florida. Currently 74F under blue skies. We hope everyone has a safe and fun day!
